Intensive Coolant Injection
Pneumofore's patented method of "Intensive Coolant Injection" is a uniquely beneficial improvement over conventional rotary vane compressors. Developed in the 1970's in cooperation with the ETH in Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology), this innovative feature results in significant energy savings and extra longevity of the air end.
The intensive coolant injection method involves a brush-like, capillary method of injecting coolant into the compressor during the final stage of the compression cycle. As a result, the overall temperature of the compressed air and of the cylinder is kept under 150°C throughout the operation.
Lower temperatures bring the following advantages:
-
Less heat = less compression work: 15% energy savings
-
Less expansion of machine parts: added longevity
-
Less internal leakage: more efficiency
-
Eliminates coolant vapor that otherwise could not be removed
-
More efficient air-coolant separation
