Weck Glaswerk, one of the most historical and renowned glassworks in Germany, is relying since decades on the Rotary Vane technology for the supply of vacuum and compressed air at the IS machines.
In 2017, for the expansion of its production plant in Bonn, the company installed the first Pneumofore UV30 vacuum pump.
This Rotary Vane machine fully met the expectations. The efficient non-stop operation and the ability to independently service the machine reinforced Weck’s faith in Pneumofore.
In fact, the company installed a second Pneumofore UV30 unit, equipped with Variable Speed drive, and commissioned a Pneumofore A400.4 low pressure air compressor for the supply of 3 bar(g).
Owing to the steady running of the Pneumofore machines under full load over the years, Weck Glaswerk was happy to document the results and the confirmed power consumption savings with a video testimonial. With a pure and honest testimonial, Weck is demonstrating the improvements achieved in meeting the demanding German carbon footprint reduction rules.

Glasstec 2024

Glasstec 2024

Pneumofore will present its cutting-edge technology and vacuum and compressed air solutions for glass production at Glasstec, the world’s leading trade show for the glass industry.

With a brand-new booth design in Hall 13, Stand A64, Pneumofore will showcase a range of high-performance vacuum and compressor systems, including the A2 Series booster compressor systems, designed to compress air from an inlet pressure of 2 to 10 bar(g) to an outlet pressure of up to 18 bar(g), marking a significant advancement in the compnay’s product line.

This year, Pneumofore is proud to participate for the first time at the Glasstec Conference. Don’t miss the opportunity to attend a compelling lecture by Pneumofore’s President, Eng. Daniel Hilfiker. The presentation, titled “Glass Moulding with Sustainable Compressors and Vacuum Pumps,” will be held on 25 October 2024 at 10:20 on the Glass Trends Live stage in Hall 10/A70.This insightful presentation will delve into the key role of compressed air and vacuum in the blow moulding process, essential for shaping molten glass into desired forms.
Eng. Hilfiker will examinate the variety of technologies available today, emphasizing their electrical power consumption and long-term Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). As the furnace in glassworks boasts a lifespan exceeding 20 years, it is crucial that supporting equipment, such as air compressors and vacuum pumps, match this durability while maintaining peak performance. The presentation will highlight the importance of sustained efficiency, as any decline leads to increased power consumption and CO2 emissions.

Pneumofore’s solutions are designed to ensure consistent performance over time, with a focus on reducing electric power consumption, which is a major cost driver over the lifespan of these machines.
Visit our stand at Glasstec 2024 to learn more about their innovative solutions that not only enhance production efficiency but also contribute to sustainability by reducing energy consumption and environmental impact.
